A year of learning / A review of 2015
2015 was a year of a lot of learning. Learning myself and the way my eyes percieve everything around me. I can remember my creative process, even the way I went about daily life, being heavily influenced by a few words from Elliot Erwitt "All the technique in the world doesn't compensate for the inability to notice". Those words have stuck with me every single time I pick up a camera. I struggled with sticking to what I was comfortable with shooting, what was easy, and what was popular. For anyone who has followed my work throughout the years I want to say two things:
First, thank you so much for taking the time to view, apprecaite, and compliment my work.
Second, As this next year approaches know that my goal will be to create photographs that make you feel something, bring you somewhere, or help you connect with other people.
Isn't that what it is all about in the end? To connect with others? To experiance something? To feel something new? I'm drawn to photographs that brought me outside of my normal thinking. Photographs that drew me to others, made me feel something, or inspired me.
Here's to 2016 and creating something that matters.
As you view these photographs be inspired to notice more.
